A proper shader cache is the single biggest performance booster for TOTK on Yuzu – more than CPU or GPU overclocking.
(TotK) is a critical factor for achieving smooth, stutter-free performance. While shader caches do not directly increase your maximum frame rate, they eliminate the momentary "stuttering" that occurs when the emulator compiles new graphical instructions during gameplay.
Select Vulkan . OpenGL is completely outdated for TotK and will result in terrible performance and massive shader lag. zelda totk shader cache yuzu

If you want to skip the hours of compiling shaders yourself, you can download a community-sourced transferable pipeline cache (often shared as .bin or .cache files). Because of copyright restrictions, official Nintendo shader dumps cannot be natively distributed by the emulator developers, but they are widely available in the emulation community.
