Automatically tracks data ranges in storage regions to skip unnecessary I/O. Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC):

8 x 6.4 TB NVMe Flash drives (51.2 TB total NVMe Flash storage per server). Processing: Two 16-core Intel Xeon 4214 processors. Configuration Scalability

Performance and Architecture

The Oracle Exadata X8-2 represents a significant leap in converged database infrastructure, designed specifically for running Oracle Database workloads. It bridges the gap between OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) and OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) by offloading SQL processing to intelligent storage cells.

Exadata automatically caches frequently accessed data into ultra-fast flash memory. Furthermore, the X8-2 integrates advanced algorithms that allow the database server to read data directly from the storage flash via Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA), bypassing the storage operating system entirely to achieve sub-100 microsecond read latencies. 4. Key Workload Benefits

The Database Server (DB Server) in the X8-2 houses the primary Oracle Database instance, handling all SQL parsing, optimization, and execution. It leverages a powerful, dual-processor configuration and substantial memory.

The Oracle Exadata X8-2 is a highly scalable, engineered system built specifically to run Oracle Database. Introduced as part of the eighth generation of the Exadata family, the "X8" denotes the generation, while the "-2" indicates the use of two-socket database servers.
